Salary: in excess of £115,000
Full Time, Permanent
Start date: September 2021
We have a vision for Catholic education that goes beyond individual schools and changes our perception from ‘my’ school, to ‘our’ schools.
The South East London Catholic Academy Trust is a new cross-phase family of schools opening as a multi-academy trust in September 2021. It is part of an innovative project in consultation with the Regional Schools Commissioner and the DfE. It will start with four converting Single Academies in September 2021 and be joined by four additional maintained schools in March 2022.
This project allows the new Catholic Academy Trust to build our distinctive ethos which is founded on the Gospel values of faithfulness, humility, truth, forgiveness, tolerance, dignity, service, and respect. The SELCAT is being established by, and is accountable to, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Southwark, as part of its Education Strategic plan.
The CEO will be an inspirational strategic leader able to develop and articulate the vision, values and ethos of the Trust to ensure a culture of excellence and high expectations in all our students and will empower others to do the same. The ideal candidate will be someone who focuses on leadership development at all levels to improve outcomes and grow capacity.
Within our academies will be communities where our children and young people are given a clear vision for life, a vision which is rooted in the person and teachings of Jesus Christ and which is faithful to the mission of the Catholic Church.
Accountable to the Trust Board, you will be a practicing Catholic bringing a credible track record of continuous improvement in educational performance and outcomes. You will lead and develop a strong, dedicated team of Headteachers and in time a central team of professionals working together for the benefit of our children and young people so that they fulfil their full potential and gain a range of positive, purposeful and Christ centred experiences at school to equip them for their future.
The successful candidate will know how to maintain and deliver systemic rigor across the breadth of a multi-academy trust or similar large organisation, achieved through collaborative working and the nurturing of a high-performance culture through all key strategic stake holders. We are seeking a collaborative engaging CEO who will grow and develop along with the Trust and the Trust Board as we expand and shape our vision.
