Following a period of significant challenge the Governors of John Fisher are seeking to appoint an inspirational Headteacher to lead the school on the next stage of its journey and to reinforce our robust Catholic ethos plus deliver on our strategic goals.
We are a school which offers an all-round education and a community where our pupils are given a clear vision for life rooted in the person and teachings of Jesus Christ, while faith is proposed rather than imposed. At the heart of our school is a learning community which enables boys to be the best they can, respecting the values and opinions of others
Expert pastoral care, specialist dedicated teachers, and rich resources enable John Fisher boys to gain the strongest of foundations for future achievement post sixth form. We aim to equip every boy with the intellectual skills, emotional confidence and resilience to try to take risks and to succeed whatever their chosen path and career. Our school is therefore dynamic and nurtures all students to be imaginative, curious and creative. We believe that a strong emphasis on virtues such as generosity, sincerity, a spirit of service and self-discipline complements our aim and helps boys grow both at school and in later life.
The Governing Body are seeking a candidate who will:
- Be a practising Catholic and an aspirational and confident leader who models the highest levels of professionalism which motivate and progress all staff and students.
- Think strategically and articulate and share the school vision with others.
- Have a proven track record of raising standards in teaching and learning and can create an environment where inspirational teaching fosters intellectual curiosity and depth of knowledge.
- Possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to create an outward-looking Catholic community within which all individuals are valued, and their talents and personality celebrated in a warm nurturing environment.
The school is situated on a unique suburban site which facilitates many opportunities for pupil enrichment, extra-curricular clubs and collegiate working. In June 2023 Ofsted confirmed John Fisher as a good school and put the school in a perfect place to continue improving so that it can be outstanding by aiming to be an exemplary model for education.
