St Francis Xavier Sixth Form College Dedicate a Week to St Francis Xavier

27th February 2024 Off By Claire Williams

In the last week of this half term, 5th to 9th February 2024, Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Sixth Form College held a week dedicated to our patron.  All prayers and reflections were about St Francis Xavier himself, and there was a service of readings and Eucharist in the chapel where the choir sung.

Throughout the week we had a collection of new toys for Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. The week included a pyjama day, you paid 50p to wear your pyjamas, but you paid a £1 fine if you did not! Over £100 was raised just by one form for the pyjama day, and Health and Social Care donated £100 worth of Amazon vouchers.

On Friday we took all the toys we had collected to the hospital.  The whole idea to support Great Ormond Street was that of our student Alex who had been looked after by the hospital throughout his young life.
