Class Teacher, St Cecilia’s Catholic School

September 2025
Outer London Main Pay Scale
Full time

We are an oversubscribed two-form entry Catholic primary school in Outer London. With over 60 staff and close to 500 children we are a thriving community, rated outstanding by OFSTED and the Catholic School Inspection in December 2023, currently in the Times Top 500 Schools.

We’ve built a brilliant curriculum here – one that really clicks with our pupils. It’s packed with purpose and personality, designed to get children excited about learning and remembering what they’ve learned. We’re proud of it – and we’d love you to help us make it even better.  This role could be in EYFS or KS1, depending on your strengths – we want the right fit for you and for us.

We’re searching for a teacher who really understands children – someone warm, enthusiastic, and able to build great relationships with families too. You’ll be a team player, full of ideas, and someone who brings good vibes and great practice to our staffroom.

You’ll also be a confident communicator, with a good understanding of how different teaching methods can help children thrive.

We’re a Google school, so if you know your way around Google Workspace – that’s a big plus!

As a Catholic school, all teachers deliver the RE curriculum and take part in our Christian/Catholic school life – it’s something we do together.  We welcome applications from candidates of all faiths and none.

We’d love to hear from both ECTs and experienced teachers. To apply, you’ll need to be currently living in the UK and have the right to live and work here.

What we offer:

  • National teacher pay scales – your experience is recognised and rewarded properly.
  • Access to the excellent Teachers’ Pension Scheme.
  • A genuinely experienced and supportive leadership team.
  • If you’re an ECT, you’ll be fully supported through the Wandle Learning Trust ECT programme – and a school based mentor – proper guidance, not guesswork.
  • Training in Emotion Coaching – our whole-school approach to behaviour that’s rooted in empathy and regulation.
  • Your own Google Chromebook – we’re a Google school and proud of how tech supports our teaching.
  • A staff wellbeing service with confidential counselling and advice – whatever you’re dealing with, you’re not alone.
  • Cycle to Work and Electric Car schemes (both contributory) – we support eco-friendly choices.

Come and see us, visits to the school are warmly welcomed, to book send us a quick email to office@stcecilias.school.  You can also discuss the role with Vince Burke our Headteacher on 020 8337 4566
