Year One from St Augustine’s Catholic Primary School in Tunbridge Wells, enjoyed a very special trip to Community Café 137 in Southborough as part of their topic on local area and Common good.
The café is run by friendly volunteers who give their time to make a welcoming space for everyone in the community. The children were able to see how small acts of kindness — like making someone a cup of tea or offering a smile — can make a big difference.
The children enjoyed:
- Meeting the volunteers and learning how the café runs.
- Playing board games and engaging with community.
- Enjoying cake and juice before heading back to school.
- writing thank you letters back at school.
