This session will cover the legal aspects of the role of a director in a Catholic Academy Trust, including governance responsibilities under company and charity law, and the application of the Nolan Principles (Seven Principles of Public Life).
- Directors act as both company directors and charitable trustees.
- Responsibilities include compliance, finance, safeguarding, and Catholic ethos.
- Governance structure: Members, Trust Board, Local Governing Bodies.
- Nolan Principles: Selflessness, Integrity, Objectivity, Accountability, Openness, Honesty, Leadership.
