Evaluation of Education Service Feedback

Thank you for taking the time to give feedback about how we can improve how we support schools at the Education Service. We asked for areas we could develop and suggestions about what we could do moving forward.

…messages from the Education Service were not always consistent and dependent on the person being spoken to…ensure there are systems in place for guidance so consistent messages are sent out …put this on the website so it can be accessed easily…ensure there is regular communication, with half-termly briefings on the last Thursday of the term with a clear agenda but also an opportunity for leaders to bring items. …take time to talk with colleagues so everyone is saying the same things.
…the Headteacher conference should go back to Thursday and Friday…this year was different to respond to headteachers request to be in school for the closing on the Year of Hope… resume as before.
…the team should give more definitive answers when presented with questions…this is not something we are always able to do, as in some cases our role is to signpost to professionals with specific expertise or to be a sounding board for leaders to make their own decisions.…where there is an answer, ensure we work hard to be clear with our responses, ensuring transparency.
…the process for recruitment of Foundation Governors is very slow…the team have worked hard to ensure this is as efficient as possible but there are certain elements we have no control over …see Governor process diagram…create a Governor process diagram for transparency

…develop inter-trust relationships… provide networking opportunities at our annual CAT AGMS and monthly DESCEO meetings … have regular governance professional and clerks briefing and SLT briefings…if there are any other forums you believe would be beneficial, please get in touch with your TRO and we can look at facilitating this.
…offer retreats for primary headteachers …we will liaise with Canon Victor and arrange something for the summer term.
…develop systems to share resources and examples of ‘strong’ documentation. …develop training offer for CSI, chaplaincy, CLM… more of this with the secondary chaplains, using Padlet. … have The Well (Log In ‹ The Well) as our platform for sharing information and this is being updated all the time …training booklet of CPD offered…if there is anything you feel we can add, please do let us know. …there is scope for sharing documentation on this platform and this is something we are beginning to explore and will keep you updated.
