An introduction to Catholic Academy Trusts. How Catholic Academy Trusts within the Diocese are set up and managed. Open to Headteachers and Governors thinking of joining a Diocesan Trust.
This session will cover:
- What is a MAT?
- Who are the Members of a Catholic MAT?
- Who are the board members of the Trust?
- How is governance of a MAT different to that of a VA school or Single Academy Trust?
- Who are the employers in a MAT?
- Who owns the land and buildings in a MAT?
- What is a Scheme of Delegation? Who decides on the Scheme of Delegation? How often is the Scheme of Delegation reviewed?
- How does each school protect its particular character/ Charism?
- CATs and the Diocese working together
