Message from the Director of Education, Dr Simon Hughes:
Thank you to all the headteachers, chairs of governing bodies, chaplains, teachers and teaching assistants who joined the team from the Education Commission for yesterday’s mass to mark the beginning of the new school year. I would particularly like to thank all the pupils who contributed so brilliantly, through their enthusiastic singing, to such a wonderful celebration. It was a very special occasion.
Thanks also to the very many of you who stopped to say hello in Amigo Hall afterwards. Apologies to any people I missed.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank publicly the team at the Education Commission who organised the whole day efficiently. The smoothness of the event was made possible by your very hard work. Thank you.
