The Governors of Margaret Roper Catholic Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated and highly effective Class Teacher to join our successful and welcoming school community from 1st September 2026.

Margaret Roper Catholic Primary School is a thriving, one-form entry school where Christ is at the centre of all we do. We are proud of our strong Catholic identity, our close partnership with the Parish and our commitment to providing an outstanding education for every child. Our pupils are happy, enthusiastic learners who demonstrate excellent behaviour and a genuine love of learning.

As a Catholic school, we are committed to educating the whole child and fostering a love of learning within a community of faith. We seek a teacher who is passionate about making a difference to children’s lives, supports our Catholic ethos and is dedicated to achieving the very best outcomes for every pupil.

This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational teacher who is passionate about ensuring that every child achieves their full potential, both academically and spiritually.

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Is an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations of achievement and behaviour.
  • Is committed to providing engaging, creative and ambitious learning experiences for all children.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching and learning and a commitment to continuous professional development.

  • Builds positive and productive relationships with pupils, parents, staff and the wider community.
  • Supports and promotes the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
  • Is reflective, enthusiastic and committed to school improvement.
  • Has a strong commitment to inclusion and ensuring success for every child.

Applications are welcomed from both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers.

We can offer:

  • Happy, caring and well-behaved children who are eager to learn.
  • A strong Catholic ethos and a welcoming, supportive school community.
  • Dedicated and hardworking staff who work collaboratively and support one another.
  • A commitment to staff wellbeing.
  • High-quality professional development and career progression opportunities.
  • Strong support and mentoring for ECTs.
  • Excellent links with the Parish and wider Catholic community.
  • A well-resourced learning environment.

The successful candidate may be deployed in either Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 according to their experience, strengths and the needs of the school. Additional responsibilities, including subject leadership opportunities, may be available for suitably experienced candidates.

Applications are also invited from colleagues who prefer part-time working.

Whilst applications are particularly welcomed from practising Catholics, we warmly welcome applications from candidates who are supportive of and committed to the distinctive Catholic ethos and values of the school.

Visits to the school are warmly encouraged and can be arranged by contacting the school office.
