Headteacher, St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Broadstairs

Full-time role
Location: St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Broadstairs
Grade: L14 (£61,042) to L21 (£72,483)

Are you a practising Catholic who is passionate about ensuring the best outcomes for children? Are you a creative and strong leader with the vision and ability to inspire and positively motivate a team? If the answer to both questions is yes, then our Trust would love to hear from you!

The Kent Catholic Schools’ Partnership (KCSP), is a multi-academy trust (MAT) established by the Archdiocese of Southwark for Catholic education across Kent. Currently a MAT comprising 26 schools (21 primary and 5 secondary), our Trust is seeking to appoint a dynamic and innovative Catholic Headteacher for one of our friendly and welcoming schools – St Joseph’s Primary in Broadstairs, from September 2024.

St Joseph’s is a one form entry primary school serving the Parish of Our Lady Star of the Sea in Broadstairs and the local area; St Joseph’s is currently graded as ‘Requires Improvement’ by Ofsted (June 2022) and ‘Good’ for its denominational inspection (June 2023). It is an inclusive school in which every student is supported and challenged to be their very best and encouraged to grow spiritually and intellectually; a huge amount of work to further develop the school’s curriculum and offer for children has taken place over the past year, fully supported by the Trust’s experienced school improvement team.

Reporting to the Area School Improvement Partner (ASIP), the Headteacher will build upon and further develop the excellent work already taking place at the school and will be responsible for its day-to-day leadership and management. The right applicant will lead the enthusiastic staff team forward, that strives together for children under the school’s motto of “Aim high, achieve together”.

The successful applicant will also take the lead role in providing inspirational Catholic education based on our shared Gospel values, and will be seen by pupils, parents and carers, and the wider parish as the person directing their learning, and as the school’s pastoral leader.  We are therefore seeking to appoint a practising Catholic to this role.

Visits to the school are warmly encouraged and will give you the opportunity to see all that this friendly and engaging setting has to offer. Please contact the school’s office directly on 01843 861 738 if you would like to arrange a visit.
