Once again, The Politics Project created a sense of excitement in the Year 6 classrooms at St Fidelis Catholic Primary School in Erith, Kent.
The children were passionate about the questions they asked and really valued the experience of talking with a local councillor. As a school, they do The Politics Project to provide the children with a deeper understanding of what politics involves and to allow children to use their voice to speak about concerns that they have. The issues raised by the children, such as improving local housing conditions and making the environment in our community cleaner, linked to the Catholic social teaching principles of the common good, creation and environment.
After the dialogue session with Councillor Zainab Asunramu, the children felt that the topics they raised were listened to and they are now inspired to learn more about politics. St Fidelis Catholic Primary School are excited to work with The Politics Project again in the future.
