Part-Time SENDCo (3 Days per Week) – Permanent Position

The Governors of Margaret Roper Catholic Primary School are seeking to appoint an experienced, highly organised and inspirational SENDCo to join our thriving Catholic school community.

We are looking for a passionate advocate for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities who will lead and further develop our strong SEND provision, ensuring that all pupils receive the support, challenge and opportunities they need to flourish. 

The successful candidate will join the School Leadership Team and play a key strategic role in promoting inclusion, improving outcomes and supporting staff in delivering high-quality provision for all pupils.

We are seeking a SENDCo who will build upon these strengths and continue to develop an inclusive culture where every child can thrive. 

We Are Looking For Someone Who: 

  • Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or is working towards it, or has equivalent relevant qualifications and experience. 
  • Has successful experience of leading SEND provision within a primary school setting. 
  • Has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation. 
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to inclusion, equality of opportunity and high aspirations for all pupils. 
  • Is skilled in identifying barriers to learning and implementing effective strategies to overcome them. 
  • Has excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills. 
  • Works effectively with pupils, families, staff, governors and external agencies. 
  • Can analyse information and evaluate the impact of provision to improve outcomes. 
  • Is committed to supporting and promoting the Catholic ethos and values of the school. 

Key Responsibilities 

The successful candidate will: 

  • Lead and manage SEND provision across the school. 
  • Ensure that pupils with SEND receive high-quality support and make strong progress from their starting points. 
  • Advise and support teachers in meeting the needs of pupils with SEND. 
  • Maintain accurate SEND records and statutory documentation. 
  • Coordinate Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) processes and annual reviews. 
  • Work closely with parents, carers and external professionals. 
  • Monitor the quality and effectiveness of SEND provision and interventions. 
  • Contribute to whole-school self-evaluation and school improvement planning. 
  • Promote an inclusive culture in which all pupils feel valued and supported.
