St Fidelis Catholic Primary School in Erith recently received exciting news: Mr Robinson, the school’s specialist Music teacher, has been awarded Primary School Music Teacher of the Year by Classic FM.
Mr Robinson is an exceptional music specialist teacher within our school community, across the London Borough of Bexley in his role as Primary Lead School for Music in the South East London Music Hub and nationally through his preparation of his students to sing as part of the King’s inaugural Christmas speech a few years ago.
The music curriculum at St Fidelis surpasses the expectations of the primary national curriculum for pupils from Reception to Year 6, developing children’s musical and singing skills to levels well beyond those typically found at the end of the primary school phase. Colleagues from other schools frequently visit St Fidelis to learn more about the provision Mr Robinson has put in place.
Mr Robinson has developed a musical culture in school that encompasses all children through our award winning junior choir, five steel pan groups, orchestra, djembe drum group and infant choir.
We are very grateful for how Mr Robinson continues to impart a love of music and joy throughout our school. Mr Robinson will collect his award at the Royal Albert Hall in London, next month.
