Well done to staff and pupils at St James the Great, Thornton Heath for being awarded the inaugural PGA Presidents Trophy for the Unleash Your Drive PSHE program.
For the past year, the school has been one of 650 nationally who were selected to trial the program which focuses on mental strength development based on sports psychology. Working with Pro golfers and coaches alongside school staff meant that these skills were adapted and utilised in other areas of school and personal life.
The children were invited to talk about their learning and experiences at the House of Commons with MPS and significant financial backers, then to perform and chat with pro golfers and celebrities at The BMW PGA Pro/Celeb event in September where they chatted about their learning with pro fessional golfers such as Rory McIllroy and celebrities like Michael McIntyre, they then performed as a choir to the gathered participants and were surprised with the Award.
