St Paul’s Academy is celebrating an excellent Ofsted inspection in June 2026, with inspectors praising the school’s rapid progress, ambitious approach to personal development and “excellent” careers education, alongside a wealth of recognition for its pupils, staff and wider school community.
Inspectors described pupils as “happy, polite and respectful”, adding that they “feel proud to belong to the school community”.
The Academy’s personal development provision was a particular strength, with Ofsted noting that its “ambitious personal development curriculum builds pupils’ confidence and character over time”. Careers education was described as “excellent”, with every pupil receiving expert guidance.

The report also recognised the positive culture across the Academy, noting that pupils treat one another with respect, show maturity in their daily interactions and engage positively with their learning.
Ofsted highlighted the progress being made by the school’s leadership, stating: “Leaders have high expectations for pupils and staff. The leadership team has made rapid progress in areas where they identified that improvement was needed.”
Principal Anton Innocent, himself a former student of St Paul’s Academy, said:
“As Principal, I am incredibly proud of the achievements highlighted in this report. Having been a student here myself, I understand first-hand the transformative power of a St Paul’s education.
“This report reflects the hard work of our pupils and staff and the strength of our school community. I look forward to welcoming families to our upcoming Open Events so they can see first-hand what makes St Paul’s such a special place.”
Trust CEO Jonathan Ronan said:
“This latest report is a fantastic affirmation of the dedication, heart and vibrant community spirit that defines St Paul’s Academy.
“Most of all, hearing our students described as happy, polite, respectful and proud to belong to our school family reflects the very heart of our Catholic ethos. This positive report was further affirmed by a great improvement in our exam results this summer, demonstrating that our work to raise standards is delivering real academic success. The future for St Paul’s Academy is exceptionally bright.”
