GREENWICH, LONDON — Students and staff at St. Paul’s Academy in the Royal Borough of Greenwich are celebrating today following the release of the Class of 2026 GCSE results. The outcomes highlight strong student achievement, significant progress in core subjects, and the school’s continuing journey of academic excellence.
This year’s results demonstrate notable improvements in both English and Mathematics, reflecting the dedication of pupils, the hard work of teaching staff, and the impact of focused academic initiatives across the curriculum. Core English and Mathematics strong pass rates jumped by over nine percentage points.
Building on its well-established reputation for exceptional pastoral care and personal development, St. Paul’s Academy continues to ensure that every young person is supported to achieve their academic potential while developing into confident, resilient, and well-rounded individuals.
Principal Anton Innocent expressed immense pride in the students’ accomplishments:
“We are immensely proud of our Year 11 cohort. These results reflect the relentless hard work, dedication, and resilience of our students, supported by our talented staff and supportive families. Seeing our strong pass rates in core English and Maths jump by over nine percentage points, alongside such inspiring individual achievements, demonstrates that our focus on academic rigor and personal ambition is bearing fruit. We wish all our students the very best as they take their next steps into post-16 education and training.”
Head of Year 11, Roger Quartery, added:
“Our Year 11 students have shown tremendous perseverance and maturity throughout their GCSE journey. They embraced every opportunity to succeed, and these results are a fitting reward for their hard work. We are incredibly grateful to our staff and parents for their unwavering encouragement and look forward to seeing every student flourish in the next stage of their education.”
Individual Highlights and Top Achievers
Alongside overall cohort gains, individual success stories were celebrated across the year group:

Fortune Olatunde achieved an extraordinary total of nine Grade 9s (including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Further Maths, Maths, English Language, English Literature, and RS) alongside a Grade 7 in Spanish, earning an overall average grade score of 8.80. Fortune will be attending Eton College on a full scholarship starting this September. Reacting to his accomplishments, Fortune shared: “I don’t know what to say. I’m proud. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Tolulope Oke secured six Grade 9s (Biology, Chemistry, Maths, PE, Physics, Religious Studies), three Grade 8s (English Language, English Literature, Spanish), and a Grade 7 in Astronomy, achieving an average grade of 8.50. Tolu shared her joy at achieving such excellent results: “I didn’t think I’d get so many 9s, especially in maths. I’m excited, relieved, everything. I’m really happy. I’m pleased with my English results because that’s something I used to struggle with.”
